1967

Dhanwantari Hospital and Research Centre, established on 11th June 1967, began its journey as a diagnostic centre in a two-storey premises that previously served as a marriage hall. Founded with a visionary commitment to accessible healthcare, the hospital initially offered free medical services through dedicated physicians, surgeons, gynaecologists, paediatricians, and ophthalmologists, supported by basic pathological testing.

Over the decades, the hospital has grown steadily—expanding its infrastructure, introducing advanced medical facilities, and strengthening patient care services, including operation theatres, physiotherapy, diagnostic upgrades, and a fully equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Today, Dhanwantari Hospital stands as a trusted institution, delivering compassionate and quality healthcare to generations

1969

On 20th of April 1969, Nursing home as an extension to the Diagnostic Centre was inaugurated.

1980

The construction of the third floor was completed and the bed strength was increased to 28. Simultaneously the Operation Theatre was set up, OPD room strength was increased from two to three and X Ray Department was revamped.  Project for construction of fourth floor and providing patient lift was undertaken.

1981

Diagnostic Centre was named as Dhanwantari Rugnalya & Research Centre

1983

The construction of the fourth floor was completed and the bed strength was increased to 48. In the same year the Physiotherapy Department was commissioned.

1990 – 91

In order to make the available medical service more complete an idea to set up the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was conceived.

1997

On 24th June, 1997 the ICU was inaugurated.

2000-2001

OPD and Pathology Department was revamped and Side OT was set up for minor / infectious surgeries.

2002 – 2003

X ray Department was revamped and renovated.

2004

On 24th March 2004 5th and 6th floor was inaugurated.
